LEG Society Sign-up

LEG’s plans for the creation of an official university society are coming to fruition. But we need your support!

So if you’re interested in helping promote the use of Free and Open Source Software at UCT, and are keen to help out during Plaza Week (Feb 11-13) then please add your name and contact details to the CLUG wiki page which we are using to schedule the event. Also, make sure that you are on the leg-chat mailing list as this is where preparations will be organised.

At the moment we need people to help man our stand and people to come up with ideas for the stand - what can make it interesting and appealing?

If you’re not interested in helping out during Plaza Week (or simply don’t have the time) then show your support by signing up for the society in 2008. You can sign-up at our stall during Plaza Week or on one of the many sign-up sheets around the various Linux labs on campus.

Alternatively, for people who aren’t able to get to campus, but would like to show support, and join the LEG society, please GPG sign the following statement (modified to name yourself), and post the signed result as a comment:

I Foo Bar, student number FOOBAR001 (or Staff number 123456) hereby declare my wish to join the LEG society. I understand that this means the society fee of R100 will be deducted from my fees-account. I would have signed an official sign-up sheet, but am unable to.

Signed, Foo Bar

We hope that the creation of the LEG Society will allow LEG to grow and reach out to the next generation of Linux Users on campus. We hope you’ll join us in making this happen.
